Having strong feet and ankles is ESSENTIAL for feeling stable in your turns and spins.
This is especially true for us ladies when we wear high heels while we dance. There are lots of things we can do to keep our feet and ankles healthy and strong, and these exercises are just a few of them.
- point and flex your feet 8-10 times
- roll your ankles inward and outward 8-10 times
- go up to a demi-point (standing on the balls of your feet) 5-8 times and hold for at least 5 seconds on your last one.
Make sure to engage your abs and keep the booty tucked. Work your balance and feel the burn! Make sure to do each exercise on both feet and if you are really dedicated, repeat the exercises for 3 sets. Balance and stability are key ingredients to flawless turns and spins, and it all starts with the feet and ankles. Enjoy!
