Day 30: Double Spirals

For those of you cursing me for this right now, it will all make sense tomorrow and I think you might actually be excited about it!! At least that is my hope. I guess tomorrow is a surprise for all of us in one way or another.

That being said, I still want you to have fun with this. If you can’t make it around twice DO NOT STRESS. Just stick to the singles. I only show this on the right, but go ahead and try the left if you are feeling like an over-achiever. Otherwise, just the right turn will suffice.

I did two variations on the double spiral. I started with the same technique that we used for the single where I let my free foot just twist into my turning foot. To make it a double I think of it somewhat like a pirouette that stays low to the ground. In the second variation I keep my free leg straight and off the ground. Make sure you try this, even if it is just a single. It is LOTS of fun. Be careful though, that free extended leg has a tendency to change your center of gravity and add a little momentum to your turns. Don’t let it throw you off too much. Root down through the floor with the turning leg and get on with yo’ double spiraling self!!

Go back and review the day we went over spirals and the days we went over pirouettes if you are having trouble with these. It’s all related. Don’t get too frustrated. We are past that now. Have fun and show me any other creative variations that you might come up with! INOVATION people! It’s what makes the world an intersting place!

Let’s pump eachother up on these last two days and show the rest of those lazy salsa bums what they have been missing ūüėČ Just kiddin’.
